What We Offer

This is no ordinary beach house

The X House is designed to cater for the fastidious holiday maker.  Apart from the superbly outfitted kitchen, with every modern appliance and implement provided (fancy having a boiled egg – we have egg cups, or do you need a garlic crusher?), the eating and living options are numerous, with a magnificent long stainless steel kitchen bar (great for those evening cocktails while you prepare lunch or dinner), a large super hi-tech carbon fibre dining table and an outdoor dining table on the main deck overlooking Moreton Bay.

The living area has a great hi-fi system and large TV, with surround sound (and all the instructions provided!) ready to play your favourite CD, DVD or for you to dock your iPod (docking station provided). Downstairs there is a similar hi-fi system and TV in the second living area, with a comfortable sofa (that can also sleep up to two people if you wish).

The master bedroom, with king size bed, and ensuite are located upstairs with fantastic views through fully opening bi-fold doors, over Moreton Bay and the adjacent national park.

Downstairs there are two large bedrooms, one with a king size bed, the other with twin beds with their own decks that lookout to Moreton Bay as well. There is an additional bathroom / toilet servicing these bedrooms.

All bedrooms and living areas are air conditioned and there are also ceiling fans in all bedrooms.

There is even a wine rack to store your wines over the duration of your stay. We have a small library of books and an assortment of CDs, board games and cards.

To make your experience even more enjoyable we recommend you bring the following:

• iPods
• DVDs and CDs
• Beach towels (the Resort provides bath towels)
• Your food and other provisions (there is a grocery store at the Resort but it has a limited range although fresh milk, newspapers and essentials are available)
• Good walking shoes! It is a ten minute walk either down the steep sand steps or via the road (the latter is recommended) to the beach, jetty and Resort.

If you have a Four Wheel Drive consider taking it over on the barge, because there are wonderful trips to do around the island. Remember however that there are very few sealed roads (just around the hilltop houses) – most of the “roads” on the island are sand tracks with deep wheel ruts! But it IS a wonderful experience to explore the island. If you don’t have a 4WD, the Resort does rent out reliable Toyota 4WDs by the day.

As this is a beach vacation area, casual attire is the order of the day (and night). The X House has a fully equipped laundry, and there is an iron and ironing board should you need it. It can get quite cool at night especially in winter.

How Much?

The daily rate including cleaning and provision of all linen is $550.00

Please note: there is a minimum stay of 3 nights.
